One of the problems I face when presented with a project is finishing it. More often than not I will get halfway through an idea before becoming disinterested. Over the years this has resulted in exasperated parents and myself becoming more and more frustrated.

However this is not just a project, this is a job and a personal job at that. If I do not complete these drawings then my dad will be unable to publish his book. This time I do not have all the time in the world, I have at most 6 months.

6 months...

The last time I finished a project it took me a year and a half. Not because it was particularly difficult, indeed I finished all of the painting over one weekend. I just didn't ever get around to varnishing it. I needed something to help me stay on track.

If you are like me you will have tried a multitude of apps, add ons and more to help you stick to a schedule and actually get something done. Some of the things I have tried include:

1. A week by week diary

2. Freedom ( blocks off certain websites)

3. 1-3-5 List (helps you rank the importance of tasks)

4. Mindfulness

5. Arise

All of these have been tried, tested and failed. The only one here that is of use is Arise, which helps you to identify why you are procrastinating and how to get around it, although it is not very extensive.

Instead I have decided to use Trello. This is an organisation system which helps you to prioritise tasks and complete projects by introducing you to a number of management tools.

Here is a link to my Trello board for this project

Hopefully this will help as I have never used it before.
