Above you can see a water colour that I painted about a month ago edited into a dark underwater scene. This was my first time combining hand drawn art and technology to try to give my artwork some more depth. The video above depicts an underwater waif of sorts, with green mottled skin, covered in blistered yellow patches. Its webbed feet keep it suspended in the cool black waters and outstretched arms replace a function its blank eyes fail to provide. A waifs pale frame can often be found floating in the murkiest ponds, where thick mud, shields its delicate skin from sunlight. Blisters appear when a waif becomes too curious and ventures into lighter waters, the painful sores forcing it back to cooler darker depths. There have been few reported waif sightings, with spectators only catching a glimpse of a waifs slick dark hair and pale eyes peering out over the waters surface. Waifs often surface frequently, however their likeliness to the dank and rotting foliage surrounding their habitat often renders them invisible. Their sickly bodies remain an omen of death and decay to those who catch a glimpse, yet the most unnerving aspect of a waif are its pale misted eyes unblinking and luminous both in and out of water.
